It’s our business to keep track of the new information, trends, updates and success stories on social media/marketing, so that your practice can benefit. We focus on managing your online presence and the venues that make sense for you.
I spoke with some doctors at a conference in San Diego this past April. They knew that social media would be an asset to their practice by bringing them new patients and building their reputation. How often did they post, tweet or blog? Those that had social media accounts admitted that they neglected them. The overwhelming response was that hey meant to do it regularly, but they didn’t have the time…or they didn’t know what to write about.
Some of them admitted that they didn’t consider themselves writers. Their education and experience led them to be technically-focused, instead of marketing-focused. Certainly, that makes sense, but it doesn’t mean that you should ignore this important means of developing your business. Increasingly, patients are looking for medical information online in every age demographic.
That’s why you need a plan, and a writer. Your plan must be is goal oriented, well thought out, and well executed. Your writing must be tailored to your market, and speak to your patients needs and concerns. A good social media strategy isn’t a daily (or weekly) “what should I write about today?” It is a comprehensive plan that highlights your practice’s unique strengths, and special offerings. Social media is your chance to present yourself to new audiences, to connect with patients, and to share your expertise.
