The best advice I ever had came from my dad. It is incredibly simple, but covers so many situations:
“You don’t ask, you don’t get.”
Think about what you wanted as a child: another cookie, a raise in your allowance, a new puppy. Chances are you had to ask for it…sometimes over and over again!
Think about your practice…are you sharing your vision for your practice with your employees? Are you asking them how you might be missing the mark, or how you might improve?
If you want new patients, are you actively asking for referrals…from your patients & from referring professionals?
If you want to input from your patients, are you asking them if they are happy? Are you sending them questionnaires? Don’t assume…ask them about their experience at your office!
If you are unsure how to move forward, are you asking for advice on how to improve your practice?
My dad’s advice was very empowering when I was young, and it continues to be today. If you want something, ask for it. You may just get what you want! If not, ask again…
