Age matters in marketing your practice.
CareLink has helped practices reach out to both new and current patients in the most effective way. In fact, we established CareLink to help medical practices market to patients in an increasingly competitive online world.
We are often asked, how do you reach patients from different generations?
While the generations differ from how much time they spend with technology, having a solid online presence helps you to reach all three.
I came across a great article “Marketing Your Practice Across Multiple Generations”in Cataract & Refractive Surgery Today (link below*) that addresses this issue. In fact, the entire May 2016 publication focuses on “Care Across Generations.” Here are a few of the noteworthy points from the article that confirm what we’ve been saying all along.
Social Media: A presence is necessary on Facebook & Twitter to reach decision makers. They appreciate trusted information about staying healthy. Links to your website from social media help to maximize your search engine listings. The bottom line is that an active website ranks higher on Google. An effective social media strategy requires consistent postings with quality content.
Ratings: Ask patients for reviews, and monitor your online presence to manage your reputation. Positive reviews will bring you more patients, so cultivate them, and promote your stellar reputation on sites like Yelp, Healthgrades, Vitals and WebMD. Patient reviews inspire confidence and help you to be the practice of choice.
Website: Your website is your online address. It’s the place to direct all your social media and blog traffic. Make sure it is engaging and educational. The idea of scheduling appointments online appeals to the younger demographic, who are reluctant to make phone calls. It also helps people who work 9-5, who may have difficulty calling during the work day.
Community Events: Take a role in your community to build brand awareness. Health fairs, community days and events, like fun runs are all a great place for your practice to be seen. Facebook and Twitter are great ways to show your commitment to your community.
Technology: Be sure to promote the news offerings in your office, like advanced technology lens choices and diagnostic testing services. Use available technology to educate your patients, add educational links on your website, and show patient videos in the office. Explain how patient portals offer 24-hour access to secure patient health information.
Need some help getting your practice up to speed – that’s what we do at CareLink. We can help you to evaluate your needs, and reach out to patients in ways that matter to them.
