Think about social media sites as amplifiers. Plug in when you are ready to share your message.
But before you turn up the volume, do a sound check…make sure you have a great message and a great plan to keep that message fresh, relevant and consistent. It’s important to have a clear message that has value to the recipients.
Joanne Black, sales and social media expert explains it well…
“Social media has provided a new outlet to showcase your expertise — and your passion. Brick and mortar establishments are about location, location and location. The cyber-world is about content, content and content. When you provide consistent, relevant, helpful content, and answer people’s questions about your area of expertise, you quickly become known as the go-to person for your topic. You will be the expert everyone turns to for advice (and yes, to spend some money). After all…you’re a thought leader.”
So, you need a plan. Before you start posting, tweeting and blogging, think it through…have a plan. Share your expertise, be the first one people think of when they are looking for valuable & reliable information.
