The other day a client asked me how to find something to write about. I asked him one question, and we were off and running.
“What did you do last week?” He told me that nothing special happened at work, but he & his wife went to his college reunion…I told him to write about it. He said why in the world would he want to write about that…and why would be of interest to anyone else!?!
Here are a couple of reasons why:
1. It’s a common experience. Reunions are something we all _________ (fill in the blank: enjoy, look forward to, survive, regret, despise.)
2. A blog that mentions a specific university offers the opportunity to connect with others that went to your school, or a rival school…it starts conversations that may lead to a new audience.
3. Highlight the fabulous education you had (he went to a prestigious Ivy League university by the way…most impressive!).
