Get Noticed Online – Use Photos!
We’ve all heard that a picture is worth a thousand words, but in today’s online world, a picture is worth even more…it gives you an added edge. You have to admit if you saw this photo, wouldn’t you look twice?
According to a 2017 Hubspot report*, using photos will give you a big advantage online:
- Facebook posts with photos receive 2.3 times as many engagements (likes, shares, clicks).
- Twitter posts with photos are 150% more likely to be retweeted.
- When a relevant image is used, people are able to recall 65% of the information, compared to 10% of the information without an image.
Don’t be afraid to get personal!
Think about the story that you want to tell.
We chose this photo to illustrate successful LASIK surgery at an ophthalmic practice. The photo shows a happy patient with her warm and friendly doctor. The picture tells a personal story of a successful procedure. If your patients or customers agree, take a photo!
This photo says “We make patients happy!”
Photos of your practice, restaurant, store or company not only are great for selling your products, but they help to create a relationship too. Your photos invite people in and allow them to get to know your office and your staff.
Need some inspiration?
Personal photos work great to illustrate:
- Staff anniversaries
- Special events/sales/promotions
- New employees
- Special client stories (with their permission of course!)
- Employee milestones – professional & personal
- Window displays
- New products/Services
- Success stories
We would advise that you have professional photos taken of your business, your products, and your staff. You can have these photos on file, and use them when appropriate.
However, don’t miss out when opportunities arise. Have your camera or your phone ready! You might even want to appoint a staff member as your “official in-house photographer” so that you have someone whose job it is to look for photo opportunities. It’s important to have permission to use a photo. Have photo release papers on file, so that you don’t miss an opportunity to share a special story.
Using pictures to tell your story should become an integrated part of your marketing. They will help to multiply the impact of every post & tweet. A picture is worth a thousand words that can turn into $$ for your business
